Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
a good many of olden times, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 For, behold, in times gone by they were wont to abandon themselves wholly to the pursuit of pleasures, 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We Who created you, so why do you not accept the truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Have you raised its tree, or We have raised it? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
