Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
