The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
