The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
