Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We set in the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with them, and We set in it ravines to serve as ways, that haply so they may be guided; 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 It is God who has created the night, the day, the Sun, and Moon and has made them swim in a certain orbit. 33 We have not assigned to any mortal before thee to live forever; therefore, if thou diest, will they live forever? 34 Every soul shall taste of death; and We try you with evil and good for a testing, then unto Us you shall be returned. 35 When the unbelievers behold thee, they take thee only for mockery: 'Ha, is this the one who makes mention of your gods?' Yet they in the Remembrance of the All-merciful are unbelievers. 36 Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. 37 And they say: When will this threat come to pass if you are truthful? 38 If only the disbelievers realised the time when they will not be able to stop the fire from their faces and from their backs – and nor are they to be helped. 39 Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. 40 And certainly apostles before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed. 41
