These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a numerous company from among the last. 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
