The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
