He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 you ignore him. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and dense orchards, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
