Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the break of Day 1 by the Ten (secret) Nights, 2 And [by] the even [number] and the odd 3 by the night when it journeys on! 4 Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? 5 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad 6 of Iram, known for their lofty columns, 7 Like whom no one else was born in the cities. 8 (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. 9 And the mighty Pharaoh 10 [It was they] who transgressed all bounds of equity all over their lands, 11 And multiplied therein corruption. 12 So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. 13 For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. 14 And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." 15 but when He tests him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Lord has disgraced me." 16 But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, 17 And urge not on the feeding of the poor. 18 and you devour the inheritance with greed, 19 and you love wealth with an ardent love 20 By no means! when the earth shall be ground with grinding, grinding, 21 And when the command of your Lord comes and the angels row by row, 22 And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? 23 He will say: 'Would that I had forwarded (good works) for my life!' 24 Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; 25 None bindeth as He then will bind. 26 O you tranquil soul, 27 Return thou unto thy Sustainer, well-pleased [and] pleasing [Him]: 28 Join My worshipers and 29 "And enter you My Paradise!" 30
Almighty Allah's Truth.
