In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
