And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
