[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
