No! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About the criminals, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
