▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
