Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
