The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
