The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
