The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 And the producers of sparks [when] striking 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 dividing the gathering. 5 Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. 6 and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed: 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
