O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
