۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust. 23 And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 O, woe to me! Would that I had not chosen so and so for a friend! 28 Indeed, he led me astray from the remembrance [of God] after it had come unto me!" For [thus it is:] Satan is ever a betrayer of man. 29 And the Apostle cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing. 30 Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. 33 those who are going to be driven to Hell upon their faces, have taken an utterly wrong stand and their way is most erroneous! 34
