Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
