The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
