The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
