The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
