The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
