The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
