And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
