The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
