Those who spend their possessions [for the sake of God] by night and by day, secretly and openly, shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve. 274 THOSE who gorge themselves on usury behave but as he might behave whom Satan has confounded with his touch; for they say: "Buying and selling is but a kind of usury" - the while God has made buying and selling lawful and usury unlawful. Hence, whoever becomes aware of his Sustainer's admonition, and thereupon desists [from usury,] may keep his past gains, and it will be for God to judge him; but as for those who return to it - they are destined for the fire, therein to abide! 275 Allah hath blighted usury and made almsgiving fruitful. Allah loveth not the impious and guilty. 276 The righteously striving believers who are steadfast in their prayers and pay the zakat, will receive their reward from God. They will have no fear nor will they grieve. 277 O Believers, fear Allah and give up that interest which is still due to you, if you are true Believers; 278 If you will not give up the unlawful interest which you demand, know that you are in the state of war with God and His Messenger. But if you repent, you will have your capital without being wronged or having done wrong to others. 279 If the debtor is in a difficulty, grant him time Till it is easy for him to repay. But if ye remit it by way of charity, that is best for you if ye only knew. 280 And fear the day in which you will be returned to Allah; and every soul will be paid back in full what it had earned, and they will not be wronged. 281
