The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 a host of the ancients 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and shade extended, 30 near to flowing water 31 and fruit abounding, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 on raised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
