The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
