The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
