The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
