Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 “And with gardens and water-springs.” 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
