The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
