Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains - how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
