۞ It is He - Allah -Who created you from a single being, and out of it He made its mate, that he may find comfort in her. And when he covers her, she bears a light burden and goes about with it. Then, when she grows heavy, they pray to their Lord: 'If You bestow upon us a healthy child, we will surely give thanks.' 189 But when they were given a healthy son, they started ascribing to other powers a share in what God had bestowed on them. But God is above what they ascribe to Him. 190 Do they attribute as partners to Allah those who created nothing but they themselves are created? 191 And who cannot succour them, nor can succour themselves. 192 and, if you pray to them for guidance, do not respond to you? As far as you are concerned, it is all one whether you invoke them or keep silent. 193 Those whom you invoke other than Allah are creatures like you. So invoke them. and see if they answer your call, if what you claim is true. 194 Do they (the idols) have feet to walk, hands to hold things, eyes to see, and ears to hear? (Muhammad), tell them (the pagans) to call on their idols for help and to plan against Me without delay. 195 Surely my guardian is Allah, Who revealed the Book, and He befriends the good. 196 "But those ye call upon besides Him, are unable to help you, and indeed to help themselves." 197 And if you call them to guidance, they hear not and you will see them looking at you, yet they see not. 198 Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant. 199 And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaitan (Satan) then seek refuge with Allah. Verily, He is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 200 Verily those who fear God when an instigation from the Satan toucheth them, they call to mind, and lo! they are enlightened. 201 Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not. 202 And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Quran) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe." 203 Whenever the Quran is recited (to you), listen to it quietly so that you may receive mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. 205 Lo! those who are with thy Lord are not too proud to do Him service, but they praise Him and prostrate before Him. ۩ 206
