The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
