The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
