The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
