'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And make my mission easy. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron my brother 30 Increase through him my strength 31 "And make him share my task: 32 That we may exalt You much 33 And remember You much. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
