The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
