Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
