The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
