The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
