The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
