The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
