Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
