The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
