The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
